Indian Metro — Privacy Policy

Indian Metro ("the app") helps riders of Indian metro systems plan routes and hear spoken announcements before their station arrives. This policy explains what data the app uses and how.

Information we collect

• Google account details — when you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. This is used only to identify your account in the app.
• Location — with your permission, the app reads your device's location during an active trip to detect which station you are near, correct the announcement timing, and show nearby stations. Location is processed on your device only. It is never stored on our servers, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising. Background location is used solely so announcements keep working while your screen is off during a trip you started, and stops when the trip ends.

Information stored on your device only

Your recent route searches, language preference, theme choice and active trip state are stored locally on your phone and are removed if you uninstall the app.

What we do not do

• No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
• No sale or sharing of personal data with third parties.
• No tracking of your location history — the app only looks at where you are right now, during a trip, on the device.

Services we rely on

The app uses Google Firebase (Authentication to sign you in, and Firestore to download public metro reference data such as stations, lines, fares and timings). Firebase processes your sign-in according to Google's Privacy Policy.

Data deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all of its data at any time from inside the app: open Settings → Delete account. This removes your Google authentication record from our system and erases all data stored on your device (trips, saved routes, settings). You may also email us at the address below to request deletion. Uninstalling the app also removes all locally stored data.

Children

The app is a general-audience transit utility and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
